The 2017 campaign raised $16,000 for Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders, making the combined three-year total $44,000. With growing interest, the campaign included two concerts and many smaller fundraising events, involving over 700 people.
The 2017 campaign has also afforded multiple opportunities for MWB volunteers to interact with MSF. For instance, at
a screening of MSF's film "Access to the Danger Zone,” we learned from a panel of MSF representatives about the challenges of delivering humanitarian aid. As well, MWB volunteers attended a leadership workshop at the MSF Canada headquarters, which was an eye-opening experience that gave insight into how MSF executes their lifesaving missions, and the requisite skills and qualities required in those high-stress situations.
Our network of volunteers continues to expand, showing that youth care about the world and act to make it better. Find a list of volunteers who contributed to the Music Without Borders 2017 Campaign here.
