We did it again! The Music Without Borders 2019 campaign raised $12,600 in support of the humanitarian work of Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders. The campaign involved students participating as performers, stage crew, organizers and promoters from 12 schools across the Greater Toronto Area and Cambridge, Massachusetts. Around 350 friends, families, neighbours, teachers and mentors came out to support our efforts and attend the gala concert, which took place at the Bayview Glen School in Toronto.
The concert featured a blessing by storyteller Louise Profeit-Leblanc, who also shared a story from the Indigenous tradition about the Northern Lights. The story centers on the theme of caring for others, a quality that is at the heart of the humanitarian spirit exemplified by the work of Doctors Without Borders.
